...SOME RECENT HISTORY...

This aircraft was owned and operated by AMSA, Aerolineas Mundo, S.A. in the Dominican Republic as HI-542CT when it was parked and unloading cargo on the ramp at Borinquen Airport on the evening of 3 February 1992. A taxiing DC-4 N74AF accidentally struck the wing and part of the tail of the Constellation. The starboard wing fuel tank of the Constellation erupted in flames. Both aircraft were severely damaged. The remaining fuselage of the DC-4 is now located outside Gate 1, Ramey. The Constellation has been stored on airport property since that collision.
