Welcome to the Ramey Air Force Base as it is today. Please click on the thumbnail images below to enlarge the image. These pictures were taken in July of 2001. As you can see, time and lack of funding have not been kind to these places of military historical significance.

On the left is the base water tank. One can only imagine the vivid red and whte colors it used to be. This hangar still bears scars from hurricane Georges.

The movie theaters & the BX. The Warner theater, right on Belt Road, was torn down a couple of years ago to enlarge the BX parking lot. It was enclosed and air-conditioned. The Roxy theater, the open air one, is still standing. The BX is the new home of the Aguadilla branch of the Puerto Rico Motor Vehicle Bureau, a credit union, a surf shop, a pizza place, etc.

This is the base hospital today. It is a composite of two photographs (left & right sides). The building is still remarkably white despite the graffiti and neglect.

Finally, this is a picture of the inlay in the foyer of the Officers Club. Look familiar? well, it should. This is the source of the logo for the Ramey AFB Historical Association!

The Ramey AFB Historical Association is about Preserving History. We are dedicated to the purpose of restoring strategic land marks at Ramey AFB that have made every effort to withstand the sands of time and neglect. These structures represent a proud moment in history for each one of us. We realize this is a monumental undertaking, yet together we can make this a reality once again.
